Intan Laras Putri Madsen, senior portraits 2013

If you have ever meet Intan, you will love everything about her,
she has so much enthusiasm. Her energy is always happy and playful.
We had a wonderful afternoon together doing her senior portraits.
The weather was incredible, especially for Dubai.
We started out inside in the studio and played for a while, lots of laughs and giggles.
Then out and about we went, into the gardens at Arabian Ranches then off to Jumeriah Beach for sun downers.

I asked Intan what her biggest achievement so far has been. Her reply was well thought out and nicely written.
"My biggest achievement.... hmm, I've had quite a few things that I'm proud about, but I think the most important thing that I've 'achieved' is to forget the people who don't care about you and think of the people who do because there are so many people out there that love you just the way you are and you should be happy they are there. There are four months left in the school year, for the seniors at least, and I would love to spend it with the people I care about."

After spending two hours with Intan, I can't imagine anyone not caring about her, she is such a fun loving young lady, beautiful in every way.

So where do you plan on studying? What are your soon to be future plans?

"I'm planning on going to university in Singapore and take three years there to get a
bachelors degree in hotel management and see where that takes me or take a diploma
in theatre at LASALLE (in Singapore) depends which one accepts me." hahah
"If neither of those work out then I will take semi gap year and help out my mum with running
her business, maybe before that i'll have an extended summer and go to Europe, the US,
and most probably Australia. I'm excited to see where the future takes me!"

Intan, loves to dance, one of her favourite past times. As you can see in these photos, she is very fit.... and incredibly flexible.

Who are the going to miss the most when you leave Dubai?

I'm definitely going to miss my parents, all of my

amazing friends and a new addition to the family, my cat

Fifi. It's going to be hard to leave all of this behind and

start off fresh but you gotta start the future sometime!

Wishing you all the best in your adventure... of life. I am sure with your attitude and positive out look on life, it will be nothing but spontaneous and fun.

Emilie Mard, Graduating 2013

Emelie is the youngest graduate this class of 2013at the American School of Dubai. Aged 16, has so much confidence and self assurance. For her senior portraits we started out in the studio with Winnie the Rat, which happens to be the one and only Rat I have ever photographed. I was a little unsure of the safety of Winnie in my home as I have two T-shitzus, and was a bit concerned, they would have been a bit aggressive with her. Winnie ended up stealing my heart, she is such a gentle little creature, that to my surprise is very smart... She even comes when Emelie calls her, they have a bond which is a beautiful to watch.
Emelie also has a huge Cat Oliver, which she also wanted to be photographed with.

From the Studio to outside, a walk in the park, a few changes behind the bushes, here are a few photos of our afternoon. Thanks Hannah for the perfect lighting...

When asked who she will miss the most when she leaves Dubai, its her animals Winnie and her fat cat Oliver. That will be the hardest for her to say good bye too.
And Yes her Ders!

Emeile has a plan A and a plan B
plan A is to go to New York and study communications, she would like to be a journalist.
Plan B is to take a gap year and go to Australia, and a couple months in Europe.

Emelie's biggest achievement so far, the thing she is most proud of....
"I persuaded the principal to let me drop chem, hahahah felt pretty great!"
"It took a couple months, but it finally happened."

I would like to congratulate you on your senior year... It was nice getting to know you. I will be keeping track of you on facebook and look forward to seeing either Plan A or Plan B develop into something amazing.

Best of Seniors 2012

Senior Portraits, Its that time of year again,
Graduation just around the corner, well actually its 9 months away, and that feels like a life time for most seniors, as they have so much to do with recommendation letters, and university applications.
Those aren't the dates that the year books are concerned with. For most schools in Dubai the dates of Senior portraits are due usually the end of Dec to Jan 31st.
Depending on the style of portraiture that you are looking for, booking your session ahead of time is a necessity as timings book up quick.

Studio Shoots are an option when the weather is warm and dusty.
As it cools down mid October, it is easy enough to get out and about to some fabulous locations around Dubai. Beaches, Parks, Sand Dunes, in the city, at your home, what ever location you desire.
If you would like to have both options that is also possible.
Here are some examples of the seniors that I photographed last year from ASD.
Such a good looking group that went through the American School last year.

These are a selection of a few  of the teens that graduated in 2012.

If you are interested in getting your senior photos taken,
Please give me a call and we can sort out a date to fit your schedule.
