Rumor has it, Adams Kids spring/summer 2011 Ads are now out in the Middle East

I have heard rumours that Adams kids ads are out,
If you spot one let me know.
I have heard Emirates Mall, Dubai Mall.
What a day we had!
Feb 4th 2011.
Six children from aged 2 to 8.
Eight shots for commercial purposes.
Make up and hair stylists arrived at 8 in the morning, very keen they were. Most everyone else arrived at 8:45 managers for the individual stores of Adams Bahrain, Graphic designers, drivers. Clothing stylists, and the 8 child models, which dragged their parents along, to make sure they were fed and watered,  clean noses, nicely dressed, and with the right mood, for they're famous photo, I believe the children were very happy to have the help from their folks, the support was definitely needed at times.
At one point we counted a total of 28 adults, now that is what I call crowd. That is enough folks to fill the play ground.
The basic theme for this shoot was gardening. I was trying to keep the children busy with jobs to do. But as it turned out, that was more challenging than I thought it would be. Our gardening locations weren't always in the right sunlight for the morning and I was trying to back light the children's hair to give more depth to the photos.
The location to shoot this was my compound in Saar. We have a large playground in the center area for the kids to play, slides, swings, little tykes forts and houses. Trampolines, swimming pool, changing rooms and electricity to plug the steamer in to make sure the clothes were looking there best.

I had burrowed a wagon from one of my neighbors to use as a prop in the shoot, and visited one of the gardening shops in town and picked up a few watering buckets and a couple hand tools.
My longtime friends/neighbor's had recently added a puppy to their family, and kindly offered the dog to us which certainly was a highlight to us all.

Working with children always adds to the fun of doing a commercial shoot, as you never know what they are going to say or do. The age of our two youngest models, two and three, their abilities to follow direction is also a little challenging. Very endearing at the same time. I really wanted to back light the kids with the sun as much as possible and balance the light with a reflector or off camera fill flash to light up the shadow's on their face's.
I really like the way this photo turned out, our little chap is happy the puppy is distracted, nicely backlit by the sun to give a wrap around effect. The aperture here was 2.8 you can see the shallow depth of field gives more focus on the subject and his little puppy (named Wobbles).

Taking an image with three children gardening, showing the clothes, keeping them all on a relative plain certainly had its challenges.  So the gardening concept was put to the side and we went for a few action shots, of the children walking to the camera.

Another obstacle we ran into while shooting in the playground was the toys and trampolines. Which gave me two directions to basically shoot for most of the day. Some of the photos you will notice the children are side lit as well with a silver reflector to the left of the camera to bounce the light back into the shadow sides of the children's faces.

Our schedule for the day was to shoot the youngest models first so they could go home, as their attention span and interest in the job is pretty short and the m&m bribes only last so long.
It was important to get their key shots first thing in the morning, so they wouldn't tire out!
We did what we set out to do and all with-in the right time frame. All in all we had a fabulous day.
